Geoffrey Drumm is the most important Egyptologist since Herodotus

There are many theories about the Egyptian pyramids and temples, some canonical, some harebrained, some enticing, but none as parsimonious as that of Geoffrey Drumm.

Drumm wears a mohawk and neck tattoos with the build of an MMA fighter, yet he alone seems to have had the eyes to see what was actually going on in these mysterious structures.

I don't agree with every one of his assertions, but his model for ancient megalithic architecture blows away every other in terms of legibility, explainability, and predictability.

My take on his thesis can be distilled to a slogan:

> Megaliths are macrochips.

He best exemplifies this in episode 106, in which he investigates Avebury. His work on Ireland is an important pre-requisite as it brings together passage chamber mounds with bog iron in the natural processes that early humans could easily have noticed and wanted to exacerbate.

Start with a couple of his early The Land of Chem YouTube episodes, then listen to his two Danny Jones podcast interviews (in chronological order), then move on to episode 106 and then digest all of his YouTube videos in order.
